Most houses are suitable for solar PV panels. Find out whether your house can be fitted with solar PV and start earning you money.
Is my house suitable?
All you need is some unshaded roof space. Different panels are available for different roof types and installation can differ depending on your roof. Panels can be installed on flat and pitched roofs but thatched roofs can be a problem.
Where will the panels be installed?
The best location for solar panels is on a south-facing roof as this received the most light. The perfect orientation is a roof which faces anywhere between south-east and south-west.
If your house is facing east, you can still install panels and these panels will still produce around 80-85% of the energy of a south-facing panel.
Panels can be installed on most roofs, but they need to be installed in clear sunlight - any obstructions such as trees or other buildings will shade the panel and reduce the output of the panel.
